D.A.R.E for the 2014-2015 should begin shortly after school starts. Stay tuned for the exact date!
All fifth grade students across the district participate in a 10 week D.A.R.E. program focused on making safe choices in all aspects of their lives. Students learn about the D.A.R.E. decision making model to give them different strategies on how to handle bullying and peer pressure situations. Officer Michelle Cardinal from the Laconia Police Department joins us on Thursdays to teach the different lessons. During her time, students have the opportunity to watch videos, role play, read, answer questions, and ask any questions they have relating to D.A.R.E. At the end of the 10 weeks, we will hold a ceremony where the students will graduate from D.A.R.E. classes. Make sure to ask your child about what they are learning during D.A.R.E.! If you have any questions or concerns about this program, please feel free to contact Miss Ortolf.
